How It Works
The Formula
Tip = Bill × (Tip% ÷ 100) · Each = (Bill + Tip) ÷ People
Bill total · tip % · number of people
Worked Example
$120 bill · 18% · 4 people
- 1Tip = 120 × 0.18 = $21.60
- 2Total = 141.60
- 3Each = 141.60 ÷ 4 = $35.40
Result: $35.40 per person
